Modern slavery is historically thought to be exclusive to developing countries, involving forced labor with no freedom. However, nearly 4.3 per cent of Australia’s population are vulnerable to its practices.
Since the Modern Slavery Act of 2018 was established, Australian companies are required to examine and report on their suppliers to ensure that slavery is eradicated, and therefor play a positive part in the international picture.
