About this course

Since the early 2000s, there has been an Australia-wide ban on using all types of asbestos. However, asbestos still poses serious health risks in the workplace. It is estimated that around 4,000 Australians die each year from diseases caused by asbestos. There is no known safe level of asbestos exposure.

In Australia, around one-third of all buildings contain asbestos-containing materials (ACMs). To keep your staff and others safe, workers need to understand their rights and responsibilities when dealing with asbestos in the workplace.

Safetrac’s Asbestos and Silica Dust Safety Course is designed to give staff a general understanding of asbestos and silica-related safety in the workplace.
