SCORM Files FAQs

Learn how to upload and manage SCORM-compliant content within Safetrac’s platform for custom training.

General Information

What is the BYO SCORM feature on the Safetrac platform?

The BYO SCORM (Bring Your Own SCORM) feature allows Safetrac clients to upload and manage their own SCORM-compliant training courseware within the Safetrac platform. This enables organisations to use custom or purchased SCORM files as part of their compliance training programs.

Problem Addressed

What problems does the BYO SCORM feature address?

The feature addresses issues for clients who have SCORM-format compliance training courseware but lack a suitable Learning Management System (LMS) to run it. It provides a robust alternative to running SCORM content on an unsuitable or non-existent LMS.

The SCORM files must meet the following specifications:

  • Compatible with SCORMcloud (SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004)
  • Packaged in zip format
  • 30MB or less in size
What types of SCORM files can be uploaded?

Clients can upload SCORM files developed in-house or purchased from other training providers, provided they meet the technical specifications.

What options are available for managing test questions?

The Safetrac platform offers two options:

  • SCORM: Test questions are built into the training materials and captured by the platform.
  • Safetrac Platform: Test questions can be managed via the platform, with options for automated acknowledgment questions, pass/fail, or custom test questions created by the administrator.
How are other content management features handled?

Other options such as visibility of the training manual, course/training tags, and completion certificates are managed similarly to other BYO content on the Safetrac platform.

Are uploaded files scanned for security purposes?

Yes, all client files uploaded to the Safetrac platform are scanned for viruses to ensure security.
